Flames broke out Monday morning at the Heatherwood Apartments on Braeswood. When firefighters arrived, they saw a downstairs unit with smoke shooting out of it.
One woman was burned and suffered smoke inhalation. She is expected to be OK.
Eight units suffered smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
