Authorities say a man became upset when a dog apparently bit him in the leg at a party.
They say he confronted the dog's owner, 60-year-old Robert Jones, and left the house after the two argued.
Houston police say the man then returned with a gun and killed Jones and wounded two others early Saturday.
One person was treated and released, and the other had surgery for non-life-threatening injuries.
The 38-year-old suspect fled. It's unclear if Houston police had arrested him as of Sunday.
