Someone called 9-1-1 Sunday about a disturbance at an apartment in the 8100 block of Sands Point Dr. at Burning Tree.
When police arrived, a man answered the door covered in blood.
Once they were inside the apartment, they found a woman covered in blood. According to police, she died from multiple stab wounds.
Officials believe the man and woman were the only two home at the time.
"So far we haven't heard from anyone that knows anything about this," said Sgt. Ben Williams with the Houston Police Department. "We have some more neighbors we'd like to speak with, anyone who knew anything, who knows these people, knew the circumstances around what might have happened today."
The man is being questioned in the woman's death. Police do not yet know the relationship between them.
The victim's identity has not yet been released. Police say she is in her 30s.
