Pearland was taking on Louisiana-Lafayette in Waco. At stake was a trip to Williamsport.
In the top of the third inning with the game tied at 2, Pearland's David Harrison crushed one to left-center for a three-run home run giving Pearland a 5-2 lead.
The very next batter, Bayden Broder, took one over the fence to the opposite field, and that one was gone, giving Pearland a 6-2 lead.
But in the bottom of the sixth inning with Pearland leading 7-4, Louisiana's Nick Fruge nailed a 3-run shot to right field, tying the game at 7. And in the bottom of the 7th inning, Louisiana's Cain Castillo hits a bloop to right field that dropped. The throw was off target and he scored the game-winner.
The final heartbreaking score -- Louisiana 8, Pearland 7.
