Baby's sex can be revealed at 7 weeks with new test

In fact, this may be the fastest test on the planet to find out a baby's gender. The test correctly determines a baby's sex only 7 weeks or less than 2 months into a pregnancy. The fastest current gender test works 3 weeks later at about 10 weeks.

A study about the new test called PCR is published in today's "Journal of the American Medical Association". However, the test which looks for the male "Y" chromosome in the unborn baby's genetic material raises questions about whether it could be used by parents who don't want a particular gender child.
