The center of the roof caved in Saturday afternoon at Tomball Missionary Baptist Church in the 23800 block of F.M. 2978, about a mile east of F.M. 2920.
Wooden beams and insulation fell into the church, officials said.
Emergency crews responded. According to the Tomball Fire Department, the building was unoccupied at the time.
Firefighters said the collapse is likely heat-related. They believe the heat weakened the support beams in the roof.
