Dad who beat baby up for parole after 6 years
HOUSTON
Ivan Castaneda is eligible for release after serving just six years of the sentence and earning what prison officials say equates to nine years of "good time" credits.
Six-month-old Haley Castaneda turned up at Texas Children's Hospital in 2005 with two broken legs, a broken arm, a skull fracture, a nearly severed tongue and other severe injuries. Investigators have called the case one of the worst instances of child abuse they've ever seen.
