Rocket launcher, drugs found at Liberty Co. home
LIBERTY COUNTY, TX
On Wednesday evening, deputies from the Liberty County Sheriff's Office say they were operating on a Crime Stoppers tip received via the department's website and went to a location on County Road 389 near the Pebble Creek area.
Upon arrival, deputies say they located numerous firearms, including shotguns, semi-automatic shotguns, rifles, handguns and a disabled L.A.W. rocket launcher. Deputies say they also located an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia, an undisclosed amount of US currency and a marijuana growing operation. They say there was no drug making equipment at the site.
Investigators are also processing numerous stolen items including four wheelers, motor vehicle parts and other mechanical devices. They told Eyewitness News it appeared to a barter operation, trading stolen goods for meth.
Allen Bart Cook, 43, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. The Liberty Co. Sheriff's Office says other charges are pending against Cook.
