SWAT scene ends peacefully in SE Houston

The standoff unfolded in southeast Houston early Thursday morning.

A man has surrendered after a nearly two-hour long SWAT standoff in southeast Houston. According to Houston police, at around 4am, officers were called to a home on Jenkins near Sherman. Witnesses say a man barricaded himself inside a home threatening to kill himself.

A SWAT team arrived shortly after 5am. The man finally came out after 7am and surrendered to authorities peacefully.
