Man's finger severed during home invasion

HOUSTON

The home invasion happened Monday night at a home on Devin near Adrain in San Jacinto County.

Four suspects are now in custody; three men are at the San Jacinto County Jail. A 15-year-old boy, one of the suspect's sons, is being held at a Cleveland juvenile facility.

Jason Skolaski, 34, Shannon Michael Kasper, 20, and Ned Allen Smith, 42, are suspected by detectives to be part of the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang because of their tattoos.

Late Monday night, they are accused of returning to a home they had visited earlier but were told to leave after an argument. When they came back, detectives say they took the occupant's cell phone, $300 cash and something that money cannot buy.

"Before they left, they said, one of them said, 'I want his finger.' Evidently, see, they came in the house with the bolt cutters and a shotgun, so they must've had that in mind beforehand," said San Jacinto County Sheriff James Walters.

The four suspects were arrested by Cleveland police. All four, including the juvenile, have been charged with aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.

They are also being investigated for another robbery earlier Monday of a gas station in Shepherd.

The victim is recovering, but the missing half of his finger has not been found.
