The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office identified them as 68-year-old Rolando Pacheco and 2-year-old Ethan Pacheco.
Evans said the two were discovered by the child's father, who is also the son of the elderly man.
Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead.
An autopsy will be performed later today to determine the exact cause of death.
