Investigators need help to find Liberty County fugitive

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX On Wednesday of last week, deputies went to the home of Robert McComb, who they say is a person of interest in burglaries in which several firearms were stolen.

As deputies approached McComb's home, they noticed him leaving in a white minivan. They tried to stop him, but say he took off at a high rate of speed.

McComb reportedly drove onto Plum Grove Road, near where fire crews were battling a forest fire. McComb left the roadway, but was unable to pass the fire scene. That's when deputies say he fled on foot into the burning wooded area, and they stopped pusuing.

McComb is charged with felony evading and a felon in possession of a firearm in Liberty County. He's also wanted in Montgomery County for an outstanding felony warrant.

According to Liberty County investigators, McComb has an extensive and lengthy criminal history, including numerous assault and drug-related charges. He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.
