Police need your help to find suspect in year-old murder

HOUSTON Investigators say on July 4 of last year, Reynaldo Avalos and friends were leaving a night club in the 8000 block of South Gessner. That's when police say Daniel Ortiz approached the group in the club parking lot and began to argue with them about something.

Ortiz left, but returned moments later with a gun, say investigators, and shot Avalos multiple times. Avalos died at the scene.

Witnesses at the scene were able to identify Ortiz as the shooter. Ortiz was charged with murder and a warrant issued for his arrest. Ortiz is a Hispanic male, 5-foot-9 tall, weighing 210 pounds. He's considered armed and dangerous.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the filing of felony charges or arrest of Daniel R Ortiz.
