The San Antonio Express-News reported Monday that the city has started inspecting and issuing certificates of occupancy for most of the 27 homes empty since January 2010. Emergency personnel had issued evacuation orders for more than 90 homes after cracks opened in the original retaining wall and land began to slide.
Centex contractors last December started the new 1,700-foot wall.
Division vice president Laurin Darnell told the San Antonio Express-News that it "looks outstanding."
Centex has estimated the cost of the wall construction, security, home repurchases and evacuee housing at about $10 million.
