Engine trouble forces emergency plane landing in Houston

HOUSTON The airline says a Boeing 737 jet took off from Bush Intercontinental Airport around 11:30am Sunday en route to San Diego when the pilot noticed a potential engine problem.

Officials said the plane was still ascending over Austin. The pilot turned back to Houston and landed safely around 1pm.

None of the 149 passengers and six crew members were injured, and the travelers were put aboard another aircraft for the trip to San Diego.
