Investigators said a black Ford Mustang was traveling north on Spring Cypress and a white cargo van was westbound on Huffmeister.
One of the vehicles ran the red light and the van T-boned the passenger side of the Mustang, officials said.
The driver of the Mustang was ejected and died at the scene. The driver of the van was taken to North Cypress Hospital. At last check, that person was stable and in custody for driving while intoxicated.
The accident remains under investigation. Additional charges may be filed.
