Fire damages Mexican restaurant near downtown Houston

The Houston Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire at this restaurant on Harrisburg Blvd. near downtown Houston

A fire has shut down a Mexican restaurant near downtown Houston for the next few days. The fire started around 9pm Friday in the back of the kitchen at El Charro Taquerias on Harrisburg Blvd. at Altic St.

The restaurant was open, but all the customers and employees ran outside after seeing smoke.

Houston firefighters made a fast attack and got the fire out quickly.

No one was hurt and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it damaged the entire building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
