Sugar Land election won by one single vote

It's official -- the race for a seat on the Sugar Land City Council was won by just one vote.

We told you last week how attorney Amy Mitchell had won the runoff election for the District 3 seat by a single vote. Election officials ruled three mail-in ballots, all of which were cast for her opponent Howard Paul, were invalid.

That lead to a recount and this morning the election was certified. Mitchell will be sworn into office next week.
