Man's mistress accused of killing him

HOUSTON Patricia Galdamez, 35, is charged with murder for the shooting death of Juan Ascencio. A deputy found Ascencio fatally shot near the HB Japanese Steak House on 1960 near Gladebrook on June 5. He had been shot several times and his body was partially inside a car.

According to court documents, on June 5 Ascencio told his wife that he was having an extra-marital affair with a co-worker named 'Patty' or 'Patricia.' At about 8pm that evening, according to his wife, he received a phone call, left home and never returned.

Ascencio reportedly worked at the steak house, along with his father-in-law, and Galdamez. The victim's father-in-law told police that Galdamez's husband had found out about the affair about a month earlier, and had confronted Ascencio while brandishing a firearm.

The restaurant manager told police he witnessed a violent confrontation in the parking lot between Ascencio, Galdamez and a man he believed to be her husband, ending with the shooting of Ascencio.

Galdamez has not yet been arrested. No bond has been set in the case.
