Sugar Land man honored for foiling bank robbery

HOUSTON

Tag Marlow was given a certification of appreciation by Fort Bend County Sheriff Milton Wright for his actions during the November 20 robbery at a bank in the 11000 block of State Highway 6.

Marlow was inside the bank when a suspect handed a teller a note demanding cash. The suspect took the undisclosed amount of money from the bank and got into the passenger side of a Toyota Camry driven by a second suspect.

The men could have escaped, but Marlow got inside his car and followed the two suspects. He called the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and gave them a play-by-play of the suspects' direction of travel and location.

Marlow then tried to block the suspects' car until authorities could arrive, but the driver bypassed Marlow's vehicle. The suspect then rammed into a deputy's vehicle and the duo was caught.

Lloyd Taylor West, 19, of the Houston area, and Steven Pless Hines, 18, of the Sugar Land area, are each charged with robbery.
