Police say HPD patrol officers were dispatched to a disturbance call at an assisted living facility at the above location. When officers arrived, they found the victim unconscious and not breathing. Officers performed CPR on the woman until HFD emergency personnel arrived and transported the victim to the hospital.
Further investigation, say police, determined the victim and the caregiver who was on duty at the time had gotten into an argument over a rules violation. The victim then assaulted the caregiver and, at some point during the altercation, the victim became unresponsive. Officials said they do not know if she will survive.The injuries she sustained were unclear, and homicide detectives said they are looking into all possibilities.
Police say the investigation is continuing.
