GM to recall 47,000 Cadillac SRXs to fix air bags

DETROIT, MI The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says on its website that the head protection air bag on the passenger side won't inflate in a crash if no one is in the front seat.

The agency also says that a right-side passenger in the back seat may not be protected and could get hurt in a frontal or side crash.

Dealers will reprogram the air bag sensors to fix the problem free of charge.

It affects 2011 SRX crossovers made between Feb. 2, 2010 and April 29 of this year.

GM will notify owners by mail starting Friday.
