Storms bring rain, hail to parts of viewing area

HOUSTON Some of the biggest hail fell about midnight on the city of Cleveland, just up the Eastex Freeway from Houston. A few hours later, marble-sized hail fell in Montrose and Pasadena.

We received phone calls all night long from viewers as a couple of strong storms swept across the city. In many areas, there were reports of hail and at one point overnight on the far north side, there was even a tornado warning.

There was some lightning, as well, and in the town of Liberty. The power was out, but has since been restored. We don't have reports this morning of major damage from the storm.

The National Weather Service did report hail in our area, some of which measured 1.75 inches
