An Iowa City man is being held on more than $47,000 bond after police say they found hundreds of used heroin needles near his 7-year-old daughter's toys. Christopher Hinshaw was arrested after police say they found heroin, marijuana and other drug-related items in the home Wednesday night. Police spokeswoman Sgt. Denise Brotherton tells the Iowa City Press-Citizen it's the worst case of a child being exposed to drugs the officers had ever seen.

Police say many of the items, including razor blades with drug residue, were found in the child's room.

The 27-year-old Hinshaw is charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and neglect or abandonment of a dependent person.

His attorney, Philip Mears, says he spoke with Hinshaw Thursday morning but declined further comment.
