HPD officer involved in wreck on city's south side

HOUSTON Police said the officer was headed northbound on Highway 288 at Southmore when a vehicle cut in front of him.

The officer swerved to miss the car and ended up hitting a guardrail, investigators said.

The patrol car had major damage, but the officer was not injured.
