HOUSTON
Houston ISD unveiled its first ever school bus advertisements yesterday. The college board has purchased ads on 50 buses as part of a new campaign to promote the benefits of a college education. Superintendent Dr. Terry Grier says research shows college grads are healthier and make more money than people without college degrees.
"HISD, in partnership with the college board, is launching a new nationwide campaign right here in Houston aimed at promoting higher education," said Dr. Grier. "It's called 'Five Ways Ed Pays.'"
The information will also be spread through posters and brochures in schools. According to HISD's website, the price of bus ads starts at $175 per month.
