Police: Tenant shoots suspect in apartment

HOUSTON Police say witnesses report hearing someone breaking into an apartment at around 11am at the complex at 3500 Walnut Bend near Wilcrest Green. The tenant returned home and caught the suspect in his apartment reportedly holding a 'shiny object.'

According to police, the tenant, who was armed, drew his weapon and shot the suspect. The teen suspect ran but was later captured by police and EMS crews. The suspect was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died.

A police investigation is underway. No charges have been filed at this time.
