New 'Judge Judy' deal keeps show on until 2015

LOS ANGELES, CA CBS Television Distribution says Judy Sheindlin has signed a new multiyear deal to stay with the syndicated program that last season ranked No. 1 in daytime.

In a statement Monday, the 68-year-old Sheindlin says she welcomes the opportunity to continue what she calls an "exciting second career." Sheindlin, a former judge in New York, presides over small-claims cases on her syndicated show.

"Judge Judy," now in its 15th year, had been renewed until 2013 before the new agreement was reached.

The head of CBS Television Distribution says Sheindlin is "at the top of her game."
