Church replaces vandalized shrine

HOUSTON Queen of Peace Catholic Church dedicated the new statue this morning.

Local businesses and church members donated the materials and labor to build a wrought-iron niche and concrete pedestal for the statue.

Someone cut off the head and hands off the previous statue in December.
