The death toll in Arkansas has risen to nine. A county coroner says a fifth person has been found dead in flooding in Bentonville in the northwest part of the state. Benton County Coroner Daniel Oxford said Tuesday the latest victim had been riding in a small pickup truck in which another victim was found earlier in the day.

Oxford says the second body was found downstream from the truck, which got caught in a swollen creek inside Bentonville's city limits sometime overnight.

Three other flood victims died in two other northwest Arkansas counties. Another four people were killed in a tornado in the central Arkansas town of Vilonia.
