Harris County Sheriff's deputies are searching for the person who shot and killed a 22-year-old man in the middle of the street on Waco near Dallas in east Harris County. Just after 6pm, neighbors heard a shot fired and eyewitnesses saw a man drive off. Eric D. Allen, 22, was shot to death in the roadway.

Witnesses say the suspect drove up and stopped in the road. Allen approached the SUV on foot and argued with the driver. The driver then pulled out a gun and shot Allen once, killing him.

Witnesses say the killer escaped in a white Ford Edge, and may be wheelchair-bound. Deputies determined the Ford Edge was a rented vehicle and displayed Texas license plate #BF1P512. The Ford Edge has been entered as a 'wanted felony vehicle.' Deputies say the driver should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting or the location of the Ford Edge is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit at 713-967-5810 or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
