Aeros beat Peoria 4-1 in Game 1

The Houston Aeros faced off against the Peoria Rivermen Wednesday night in Game 1 of their playoff series and the home team notched a 4-1 victory. Jed Ortmeyer led the Aeros with a goal and an assist and goalie Matt Hackett made 17 saves. The Aeros outshot the Rivermen 31-18.

Houston, the No. 2 seed, now holds a 1-0 series lead over No. 3 seed Peoria in the American Hockey League playoffs. Game 2 is set for 7:30pm Friday night at Toyota Center.

The Aeroes are now 9-3 overall against the Rivermen in the postseason with a 5-1 home ice record.
