Carlton Neal Bare of Spring was riding a motorcycle westbound when a black pickup turned left in front of him from the eastbound lanes in an attempt to pull into a dance bar parking lot, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.
Bare, 39, crashed into the passenger side of the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the driver of the pickup ran from the scene, but a K-9 unit tracked him and eventually caught him hiding in a nearby wooded area.
The suspect was arrested and faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.
According to deputies at the scene, the suspect failed a field sobriety test.
