University fires AD after arrest in Houston

HOUSTON

The university has fired greg LaFleur following his weekend arrest here during the Final Four. LaFleur is charged with allegedly soliciting a prostitute and is due back in court later this month. He is free on $500 bond.

He allegedly offered $50 in exchange for sex from a female cop posing as a prostitute. LaFleur, a former NFL player, had been Southern's athletic director for the last six years.

The university's chancellor says dismissing LaFleur is in the school's best interest and he recommended the women's basketball coach become the interim AD.
