Man charged after telling police he 'ate the weed'

EL PASO, TX El Paso police say an officer approached the vehicle driven by 29-year-old Richard Parker on Wednesday and detected a strong marijuana odor. Asked by the officer to open his mouth, Parker revealed it was full of marijuana and refused to spit it out. Police say he later told the officer he had eaten the marijuana.

Parker was arrested and is being held on $5,000 bond. Court records show Parker has been previously arrested for possession of marijuana and other offenses. Online records do not show an attorney for Parker.
