Arrest made in fatal hit-and-run on Ship Channel Bridge

Moises DeJesus Alvarenga, 28, has confessed to his role in the fatal accident, police say.

There's been an arrest in the deadly hit-and-run wreck on the Ship Channel Bridge from over the weekend. Investigators say Moises Alvarenga was driving Saturday night when he made an unsafe lane change, striking a van carrying Luz and David Campos. The mother and her 13-year-old son were thrown from their van, over the bridge railing, and landed 120 feet below the bridge. Four others in the van were injured.

Alvanga, 28, is charged with two counts of accident involving injury or death. He is being held on $100,000 bond.

Alvarenga is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
