Old Town Bistro in Katy is no ordinary restaurant. It's run by Katy ISD culinary students from six area high schools attending the Miller Career and Technology Center. The district's restaurant program began three years ago. Students learn all there is to know about restaurant management, from creating and developing a menu to product testing, food preparation and managing money.

Sixty-five students are part of the program. All students are seniors.

Old Town Bistro is open for lunch two days a week, every Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30am to 1pm. The menu changes every six weeks.
