Police: Robbery suspect tracked down via stolen iPhone

HOUSTON Houston police were called out to an aggravated robbery around 6:30am this morning at 734 Brittmoore in west Harris County. Authorities say two suspects robbed two people and among the items stolen was an iPhone.

The Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office said they were able to track the location of the stolen phone using another iPhone and got a fix on the suspects' pickup truck.

A Houston Police Department helicopter spotted the pickup westbound on the Katy Freeway. Near Dairy Ashford, Precinct 5 units tried to stop the vehicle and a brief chase ensued. The chase ended when the suspects' vehicle drove off the road and crashed into a group of trees at I-10 and Pin Oak. The vehicle burst into flames.

Authorities apprehended one of the suspects. He was transported via Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment.

The second suspect has not yet been located.
