Volunteers help prep gifts for Houston kids

HOUSTON About 100 volunteers descended on the Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command's Secret Santa warehouse. They began stuffing gift bags with a couple of toys, a stuffed animal and other goodies. Volunteers say they were surprised at the size of the operation.

"I wasn't expecting the warehouse to be this big," said volunteer Robert Kimpson. "I understand that this is the hub for the Houston area, so I can understand what everyone has going on here. They have a nice program and a nice set-up. We're actually getting everything done."

For the record, the warehouse is about 74,000 square feet. The toys will be distributed to about 30,000 children who have been registered through the Salvation Army's 'Angel Tree' program.
