Sketch released of suspect in assault of elderly couple

BAYTOWN, TX On February 28, 2010 at approximately 2:30am, Baytown police received a call of a home invasion which had occurred about four hours earlier. Officers responded to the home located in the 4600 block of Ironwood Dr. to find two elderly homeowners had been assaulted and their residence ransacked.

According to the homeowners, they were inside their residence and were surprised to see a black male walk into their living room from a back bedroom. The suspect ordered the two residents to the ground and repeatedly assaulted them. It is believed that the intruder obtained entry from the rear of the residence. The wife was taken to the hospital due to her injuries.

The suspect, who is described as a tall, skinny black male, was last seen wearing a black shirt, black jeans and a black skull cap. He left with an undetermined amount of jewelry, cash and a firearm before stealing the couple's vehicle. The stolen vehicle was recovered a short time later and is currently being processed for evidence.
