Accident shuts down Highway 59 for several hours

HOUSTON DPS tells us a pickup was carrying a flammable gasoline by-product, when it collided with a big rig. The chemical caught fire and firefighters were kept back for more than an hour. The good news is that no one was hurt. The fog was also become a problem for drivers headed northeast on Highway 59.

Several police departments and a HazMat crew on the scene trying to clear the accident. The freeway finally reopened just after 8:30am.
