Man charged in fatal shooting at east Houston motel

HOUSTON William Edward Erickson , 31, is charged with murder. He is currently in the custody of the Polk County Sheriff's Department on unrelated charges.

Police said Ricardo Hidalgo, Jr. was found deceased inside a motel room at 12769 Nimitz about 12:40am on November 20. Further investigation determined Hidalgo had been shot with four females and three males present in the room.

Hidalgo 26, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooter fled the scene in a four-door sedan, of unknown make and model, driven by another male. Further investigation and witness statements identified Erickson as the shooter.
