The suspect was taken to the hospital and is listed as stable. The deputies were not hurt.
Deputy shoots armed car chase suspect
HOUSTON
The deputy was trying pull over a man for a routine traffic stop in the 15000 block of the Gulf Freeway when the suspect gave chase.
The suspect eventually got out of his car and showed a weapon. That's when the officer fired a bullet at the suspect, hitting him in the leg.
"There was a pistol recovered. The suspect did drop a weapon as he was running through the breezeway area of the motel back there," said HPD spokesperson Victor Senties.
