Alleged fake doctor in Katy may face charges

KATY, TX According to the state board of medicine, Victor Asiatico worked at the Unimed Medical Clinic in Katy.

While there, investigators say he posed as a physician even though he is not licensed. The state says he even prescribed patients medicine using another doctor's drug registration number, without that doctor's knowledge or consent.

"Our mission is patient safety, and I can't think of anything more dangerous than patients going to see someone who claims to be a doctor and isn't a doctor at all," said Leigh Hopper with the Texas Board of Medicine.

The case has been referred to the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office for potential charges.
