Driver killed after slamming into conrete pillar on Eastex Fwy

HOUSTON The driver was going southbound on the feeder road at Collingsworth around 11am. Eyewitnesses told police it looked like the driver hesitated, and couldn't decide whether to stay on the feeder or get on the ramp.

The driver lost control, slammed into the concrete pillar, and was killed.

There were no other known persons or vehicles involved in the accident. The investigation is continuing.

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
