'Bear hug' suspect sought after attack

PASADENA, TX The attack happened around 10:30am on Monday at the complex on the 1900 block of Southmore. The victim told police that she was walking home from a local convenience store, when a man in an older model, white extended cab Ford pickup truck asked her if she wanted a ride. When she refused the man then parked the truck and began following her on foot.

According to police, the victim went into another store in an attempt to get away from the man. When she thought he had left, she continued to walk home. As she walked between two buildings in the complex, the suspect grabbed her from behind in a "bear hug". The victim screamed for help and eventually broke free. The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim and witnesses described the suspect as a Hispanic male with short black hair wearing a red Astros jersey and black pants or long shorts. The suspect is approximately 5'2" to 5'6" and weighs approximately 170 to 190 pounds.
