Damaged water well causing problems at Aldine ISD schools

HOUSTON The district says shifting ground 400 feet below the surface damaged a water well earlier this month which is used by the Hinojosa Head Start Center, Reed Academy, Compass, Raymond Academy, and Grantham Academy.

It's also affecting the transportation annex building.

In the meantime, the district is conserving water by preparing student meals at other locations and delivering them to the schools. They're also providing students with drinking water and hand sanitizers.

Aldine ISD says a new water well has been constructed. The county and health department are running some tests, but it should be up and running by the end of the week.
