Damaging storms move through Dallas-Ft. Worth

Thunderstorms, ushered along by high winds, whipped through Dallas-Fort Worth on Saturday afternoon, shattering windows, damaging houses and bringing down fences. Winds gusted up to 60 mph in some areas as storms moved across Fort Worth, and tornado sirens sounded in Grapevine, Plano and Flower Mound. WFAA-TV reported that 50 apartment units in Fort Worth were damaged when winds tore away part of the roof, displacing the residents. Low-lying clouds brought an eerie darkness over Dallas.

More rain was possible Sunday, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms -- perhaps severe -- mainly in the afternoon.
