Ramp reopens at I-10 east and 610 Loop West

HOUSTON The ramp from I-10 eastbound to 610 West Loop northbound has finally reopened nearly one day after an overturned tanker truck lost its load on the ramp.

According to TxDOT, a Williams Brothers Construction Company truck transporting a 150 foot concrete bridge beam overturned while traveling on the ramp. The impact of the approximately 100 ton beam falling on the bridge caused damage to the ramp, which required immediate repair.

Crews had hoped to get the ramp back open on Wednesday night, but the ramp remained closed overnight and into Thursday afternoon. Motorists had been encouraged to take alternate routes.
