The instructor pulled the backup, and everyone landed safely. Schaffer found out about her near miss once she was on solid ground. She still says she'd like to do it again.

Lillie Schaffer took the plunge Saturday at Skydive Spaceland in Rosharon. Schaffer was harnessed to an instructor, and she didn't realize that her main chute didn't deploy.
